Center declares ‘It’s our town,too!’
The OUTreach Center abhors the recent weekend anti-gay graffiti posted at 10th Street West and Avenue J-4. This public expression of hate in our city creates a significant detrimental impact on the security of our diverse community.
We call upon elected officials, as well as community and religious leaders, to take a public stand against this reprehensible bullying and intimidation.
The OUTreach Center applauds the city of Lancaster Graffiti Task Force for its fast clean-up, and their efforts to minimize the graphic impact of this incident, defined by the Los AngelesSheriff's Department as a hate crime.
We support the Sheriff's Department in their quick investigation and thorough prosecution of the perpetrators. The OUTreach Center, both as an organization and as a community, offers law enforcement our unfettered support of their investigation.
We encourage citizens of the Antelope Valley to contact Lancaster Station detectives if they have any information which could lead to the apprehension of the suspects by calling (661) 948-8466.
The OUTreach Center, formerly the AVGLBTCC, is a non-profit grassroots organization providing support, services, and social activities to the LGBT community of the Antelope Valley and its surrounding communities.
For more information about the OUTreach Center, contact Board President Sanie Andres at (661) 789-5874 or go to www.AVGLBTCenter.com.

Former resident stays in touch
I am an AV transplant to Okie-land, my family still resides in the Antelope Valley, which is why I have you on my home page. I love the way your city government is trying to take back the Lancaster/Palmdale area.
To post your mayor, Rex Paris, the police, and the good people of your city’s efforts to crack down on crime is not only to be applauded, it is hilarious and causes me to wish I could be home, or at the very least, that the city of Tulsa would do the same. Kudos to all of you in the valley for standing up for what is right. Keep up the efforts and the reports about them.

Another Great Fair Year
The Antelope Valley has so much to offer the families and visitors of our great region. Our cities and communities provide many services for our children and families to enjoy. The fair brings ten days of fun in the sun, with the Rural Olympics, concerts, and the showing of animals by our kids. The concert line-up was again exceptional and brought something for everyone with Rock-n-Roll, Country, Latin music, among others. The food choices were some of the old favorites like funnel cakes and corn dogs, but it also featured some new dishes like deep-fried cheesecake and alligator.
Fair President Ward, the Board of Directors and General Manager Jacobs ran the fair well and did their job professionally. The fair is a difficult annual event, and the staff and Board worked tirelessly to make sure it was enjoyable to everyone.
I want to thank the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies, and fair security for keeping the fair safe and responsive to families. This was my thirtieth fair (give or take a fair) and it was one of the best I have ever attended.

Kudos to Those Cleaning up Lancaster
To the editor:
I was taken back by the law enforcement commitment to rid my home town of the thugs that thought they were the rulers of Lancaster. They are indeed not and the great
people of your community has proven that a no tolerance policy works.
Kudos to Mayor Paris, the Sheriffs Department, Police and the residents
in the Antelope Valley. Great Job!
At Home in my Heart,
Candy Hatch
